Helping an
International Shipping and Logistics Company
Find Gen IV Nuclear Reactor Providers

"This was by far the best result we have seen, AI or otherwise. "

Project Goal

Our client was searching for Gen IV nuclear reactor providers

This client, who is an international shipping and logistics company, has been looking to get an exhaustive overview of the Gen IV nuclear reactors for several months. Specifically, they would like to understand the landscape of Gen IV nuclear reactors that are suitable for marine applications.

The Challenge

The client has previously hired a consultancy to do a landscape study, but the information on vendors in the resulting study was superficial and incomplete. They would like to have a full overview of the technology providers active in the Gen IV nuclear reactors, but without having to put in further significant effort on their side. Specifically, they would like to segment the providers based on the characteristics of their Gen IV reactors, based on technology, size, use cases, among other things.

How Qurator helps

Our project has three objectives:

  1. Do a thorough scan of the nuclear reactor provider landscape, focusing on Gen IV
  2. To shortlist potential technology providers our client would find most relevant
  3. To provide maximum depth of data about the shortlisted technology options and their suppliers

Project Process

Based on our client's criteria, Qurator used machine learning to search through its database of 500,000+ sustainability tech providers, ultimately ending up with a sorted long list of 38 companies.

Qurator then provided further details about the top companies, which include customer information and case studies.

Outcome

  1. Customized scouting criteria Client received a comprehensive list of tech providers that is 100% tailored to their requirements
  2. Greater depth of data for selected companies, including info about commercial and technical maturity, customers andpartnerships, certifications etc
  3. Time- and cost-efficient screening It was a great use of leftover year-end budgets to supplement their market study
