Helping a
Swiss Utilities Company
Find Utilities Digital Twin
Software Providers

"We're surprised by the number of relevant new suppliers that Qurator found for us. "

Project Goal

Our client was on the lookout for utilities digital twin software

This client is a Swiss energy production and distribution company, also active in energy services. They were looking for utility digital twin software provider to be integrated into part of their overall digital ecosystem.

The Challenge

The client would like a full overview of the technology providers active in the utilities digital twins space, beyond just the obvious players. Specifically, they would like to understand their commercial and industrial maturity, as well as compatibility with their ecosystem.

Extensive market studies usually take several months to complete, and formal supplier enquiries would require along and tedious NDA process, which would slow down the search.

How Qurator helps

Our project has three objectives:

  1. Do a thorough scan of the utilities digital twin provider landscape
  2. To shortlist potential technology providers our client could collaborate with
  3. To provide maximum depth of data about the shortlisted technology options and their suppliers

Project Process

Based on our client's criteria, Qurator used machine learning to search through its database of 500,000+ sustainability tech providers, ultimately ending up with a long list of 23 top companies.

Qurator then provided a sorted shortlist of providers according to the client's criteria and access to a platform with the tech providers profiles.

Outcome

  1. Wider landscape knowledge 50% of the EU suppliers and 100% of the non-EU suppliers presented were new to our client
  2. Greater depth of data for selected companies, including info about commercial and technical maturity, customers andpartnerships, certifications etc
  3. Time-efficient screening without the need for market studies
