Impaakt is a collaborative platform relying on collective intelligence to produce research and assessments of the social and environmental impact of companies.
Our mission is to bring impact analysis to the heart of all investment decisions so that capital can be directed to the businesses that have the best possible impact on the planet and society.
Our Indirect Impact
Our solutions let our clients precisely measure and compare the climate performance of the largest 5000 companies (who account for more than 80% of all the GHG emissions). We also developed specific features (including our “Impact Map”) that support the engagement activities of our clients.
As they base their decision to invest/divest on climate-related criteria, our clients give a clear signal to the corporates they invest in that climate performance matters. The companies having a poor climate performance tend to be divested by our clients, which harm their stock price and increase their cost of capital. This pushes them to take concrete action to win back climate-sensitive investors.
Reciprocally, good climate performers are being rewarded for their actions and encouraged to keep improving further. This “signalling” mechanism results in the creation of a constant emulation for corporates that don’t want to see direct competitors overperforming them – thus reduce GHG emissions.
Our Roadmap
In 2024, Impaakt will be addressing the pressing issue of individual investors who are not given the right to decide how their sustainability convictions are reflected in the products sold by their banks. This new approach will continue to drive change by giving power back to the people and democratizing access to bespoke sustainability. With our enhanced platform, every member can calculate their portfolio impact scores and select investment products that fully align with their values. Impact shouldn't be a “one-size fits all” solution for investors, but rather integrate every end-investor's sustainability preferences.
